Biography
He might still only be 23 years of age, but is already a three-time NBL championship winner, has played 143 games in the league and coming into a third season with the Illawarra Hawks.
After taking some time to find his feet in his first 18 months at the Hawks, he came into the starting group under coach Justin Tatum in NBL24 and was a key part in the run to the finals taking on all the best defensive jobs.
On the back of that, will look to build on that with Tatum taking over the coaching position full-time as he continues his 143-game NBL career in a third season with the Hawks.
Was born in Sudan but moved to Perth with his family when he was four and that's where he grew up before spending two years at the NBA Global Academy as part of the Australian Institute of Sport.
Then on the back of leading Western Australia to a first under-18s national championship in 17 years in 2008, joined the Perth Wildcats as a development player for the 2018/19 season.
Spent three seasons at the 'Cats and was part of championship winning teams in 2019 and 2020, and was the starting point guard on a championship team with the Warwick Senators with Mike Ellis coach and Cody Ellis captain.
Joined the Sydney Kings for a full contract in 2021/22 and ended up being a starter on the championship winning team, earning a reputation as one of the best defensive players in the NBL.
Had a solid first season in NBL23 at the Hawks before then really finding his groove in the back end of the 2023/24 season where Illawarra went within a game of the Championship Series.
Spent the off-season playing with the Darwin Salties in the NBL1 North where in 17 appearances, he delivered 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists a game.
